Who should attend BLS Training?

BLS Healthcare Provider Course is for medical, para-medial and allied healthcare professionals. It is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out of hospital settings.

Delivery

Training delivery includes both lecture methods (including videos) and practical work with "hands-on" experience.

Assessment

Students will be assessed on a practical scenario and 25 multiple choice questions exam. 

Requirements

Students should be physically fit enough to carry out chest compression on a manikin while kneeling. It is a requirement that students demonstrate effective CPR techniques during the class.

Renewal

In order to maintain you qualification after your two-year certification period you will be required to undertake the course again. There is no refresher training for people who currently have an in-date certificate.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be issued with an Irish Heart Foundation / American Heart Association credit card sized certificate. This cert will be valid for 2 years.
